| How to check if a
LapShield is effective? |
| |
| The
LapShield effectively blocks the electromagnetic radiation and heat
from a laptop computer. While your lap can easily feel how much heat
is blocked, it is not obvious to check whether radiation is blocked
effectively. There are several ways: |
| |
- If you have a
radiofrequency meter or microwave meter, place the meter underneath
the laptop computer. Compare the reading when a LapShield is
installed and when it is not. You should see the reading is
significantly lower when the LapShield is installed.
|
- If you don't have
such a radiation meter, you may wrap a working cell phone with a
LapShield. Note you need to completely seal the cell phone with the
LapShield so that there are no cracks that signals can go through.
Hold it for a couple of minutes before you unwrap the LapShield. You
should see the cell phone displays "no signal". (This
method works with LapShield P Series only.)
